May 2008

"On the day of the first fruits, when you offer a grain offering of new grain to the Lord at your festival of weeks, you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not work at your occupations." Numbers 28: 26

The Bible Club at Goddard is open to all, so please invite guests and copy this newsletter for them. We meet on Tuesdays at noon in Building 21, Room 212 unless otherwise indicated. Please check the Dateline announcement for any last minute changes. (These changes would most likely be in building or room, NOT day. If something looks strange in the Dateline, please check the newsletter or call one of the club officers.) You are welcome to eat your lunch during the meeting. If you have any questions, please call/write Bill (Code 660.2/6-7756), Drew (Code 546/6-1639), Cristina (501/6-1115) or Bill (Code 323/6-6370).

Coming this month:

May 6th:
The DVD "With No Apology" features motivational speaker J. Johns and Canadian, Joe Boot who offer responses to life's deepest questions. Joe Boot is the Executive Director of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries.

May 13th:
Today will be a time of community with snacks, beverages, conversation and the sharing of ideas for the coming Fall meetings. Please contact Richard at 6-8841 or Richard dot broderick at nasa dot gov regarding what refreshments to bring.

May 19th:
The Bible Club will have a table at the "Quality of Work Life Expo" from 11am to 3pm in Building1, Room E-100. We need members to volunteer. Please try to find some time to help at the table, answering questions, handing out information, etc. Contact Bill Daniels on 6-7756 to let him know when you would be available to help. (Even a short period of time would help and would be greatly appreciated.)

May 20th:
Today's presentation will lay out the history of Islam and examine the differences between Islam and Christianity. These sessions were recorded at Coral Ridge Ministries in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. (This is our last meeting for the summer.)

President’s Note: Have a great summer; see you all in September, Lord willing.

"Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem. And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered because each one heard them speaking in the native language of each. Amazed and astonished, they asked, "Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language?" Acts 2: 5-8
