"Now in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall also have a Holy convocation, you shall do no laborious work. It will be to you a day for blowing trumpets."
Numbers 29:1

The Bible Club at Goddard is open to all, so please invite guests and copy this newsletter for them. Please check the Dateline announcement for any last minute changes (these changes would most likely be in building or room, NOT day. If something looks strange in the Dateline, please check the newsletter or call one of the club officers). You are welcome to eat your lunch during the meeting. If you have any questions, please call/write Bill (Code 660.2/x6-7756), Warren (Code 540.5/x65183), Mike (Code 695/x6-3170), or Kelly (code 210.3/x6-4242)

Coming this month:

September 16th
Before the club's recess over the summer, we were very privileged to have Dr. Ron Minton of Capital Bible Seminary give us a nine-week seminar on "How we got the Bible." As a follow-on we will have videos on the lives of some of the people Dr. Minton told us about. The first will be on John Wycliffe (c. 1330-1384) who was called the "Morningstar". Dr. Wycliffe was a professor at Oxford and was responsible for the monumental achievement of translating the Bible into English.

September 23rd
The Western world is becoming less Christian every day, losing the Christian world view that once permeated society. In today's video, Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis, in his dynamic and captivating style, exposes the foundational reasons for this collapse, and provides a powerful solution challenging the church to rebuild its foundation.

September 30th
Jerusalem journalist Jimmy DeYoung and Day of Discovery teacher Mart DeHaan, as well as Jewish and Christian authorities, explore the historical, agricultural, and spiritual significance of the National Holy Days. The video today will feature the Festival of Trumpets or Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish New Year.

President's Notes:

It is with remorse for the club, but great joy for Kelly, our secretary, that she will be leaving Goddard to take a job at Glenn. We will miss her, but wish her all the best that God has in store for her and her family. It is with pleasure that I announce we have a temporary "fill-in"; A good and faithful friend of the Club, Dan Endres, until the formal elections in December.

"Be renewed in the spirit of your mind and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. Therefore laying aside falsehood, speak truth, each one of you with his neighbor for we are members of one another.
Eph 4:23-25
