"You shall count seven weeks for yourself; begin to count the seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the grain.  Then you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with the tribute of a freewill offering from your hand, which you shall give as the LORD your God blesses you."
Deuteronomy 16:9-10

The Bible Club at Goddard is open to all, so please invite guests and copy this newsletter for them. Please check the Dateline announcement for any last minute changes (these changes would most likely be in building or room, NOT day. If something looks strange in the Dateline, please check the newsletter or call one of the club officers). You are welcome to eat your lunch during the meeting. If you have any questions, please call/write Bill (Code 660.2/x6-7756), Brent (Code 552/x6-8586), Mike (Code 560/x6-6069), or Veronica (code 662/x6-2739)

Coming this month:

May 2nd
Dr. John MacArthur, Bible teacher, author, pastor, and President of the Master's College and Seminary will discuss child discipline and give a clear insight concerning how to teach and train children. Dr. MacArthur will be teaching from Mark 7:21-23 in the video he has titled: "Transforming the Hearts of Children".

May 4th
Special Meeting--There are times when a speaker is just not able to be here on Tuesday, this is one of those times.  Dr. Robert V. Gentry of "Earth Science Associates", and author of the book "Creation's Tiny Mystery" will be here to talk about what he calls: Fingerprints of Creation-Polonium Halos (microspheres) in Granite. Please note that today's meeting will be in building 21, room 183 (at noon).

May 9th
Anita Gutschick will give us a look at some "Women in the Bible". Her video presentation will include Esther (Purim), the woman from Sychar, and the adventures of Ruth. Prior to her present ministry, Anita could be found doing stage work in the Baltimore-Washington Area.

May 16th
Can you always trust your senses to tell you the truth? Have you even "seen" the odor of an onion? The Moody Science video "Windows of the Soul"  will answer these and other questions through unusual and entertaining experiments.

May 23rd
Dr. David Menton received his Ph.D. in cell biology from Brown University and  taught anatomy at Washington University where he was "Professor of the Year" in the Medical School. In today's video "The Eyes Have it", Dr. Menton will go in to detail about  the magnificently designed human eye. This will be a well-illustrated and easy-to-follow talk.

President's Notes:
The Club normally takes the summer off, but  this year we are going to try something different. We will be meeting on FRIDAYS to discuss the Bible in an informal gathering, still in building 21, room 242 at noon. Bring whichever copy of the scriptures you are familiar with, along with some topics/ questions that have been on your mind. This can be a time to get to know some of the folks that you just know by sight. If we don't see you over the summer, we look forward to you being at our first fall meeting on 12 September.

"When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting."

Acts 2:1-2
