Goddard Bible Club Newsletter

February 2007

Amos 5:14 & 15 (NASB): "Seek good and not evil, that you may live; and thus may the LORD God of hosts be with you, just as you have said! Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate! Perhaps the LORD God of hosts may be gracious to the remnant of Joseph."

The Bible Club at Goddard is open to all, so please invite guests and copy this newsletter for them.  We meet on Tuesdays at noon in Building 21, Room 242 unless otherwise indicated.  Please check the Dateline announcement for any last minute changes (these changes would most likely be in building or room, NOT day. If something looks strange in the Dateline, please check the newsletter or call one of the club officers). You are welcome to eat your lunch during the meeting. If you have any questions, please call/write Bill (Code 660.2/x6-7756), Brian (Code 200/x6-1110), Bill (Code 665/x6-6370), or Mike (Code 560/x6-6069).

Coming this month:

Feb 6th,
David Aikman, a former Senior Correspondent of Time magazine, will host the video today on the life of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, the greatest Russian writer of the 20th century. Filmed on location across Russia, it follows his dramatic journey during the turbulent years and examines the odyssey that made him the champion of truth.

Feb 13th,
Dr. R.C. Sproul of Ligonier Ministries based in Orlando, FL, explores the ingredients of a successful marriage in today's video. Dr. Sproul will look into some of the necessary foundations, including: trust, open communications, honesty, and sacrificial love. He will also address guilt, fears, and lack of proper understanding.

Feb 20th,
Moody Science Classics have unfolded the miracles of nature's mysteries for over 50 years and in the video today, Dr. Irwin Moon will explore time in the laboratory. He will use a "Time Microscope" to show us some of the wonders of creation in "Time and Eternity".

Feb 27th,
During a debate at Standford University, two eminent professors come to grips with an important question: "Do we owe our existence to a creator?" William Provine, Professor of Evolutionary Biology at Cornell University and Phillip Johnson, Professor of Law at the University of California will try to answer the question: "Science or Naturalistic Philosophy?"

I John 4:7-11 (NASB): "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
