Meeting time and place   Bible Club Home

November 2007

Psalm 69:30 and 34 (NASB): 'I will praise the name of God with song and magnify Him with thanksgiving. Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them.'

The Bible Club at Goddard is open to all, so please invite guests and copy this newsletter for them. We meet on Tuesdays at noon in Building 21, Room 242 unless otherwise indicated. Please check the Dateline announcement for any last minute changes (these changes would most likely be in building or room, NOT day. If something looks strange in the Dateline, please check the newsletter or call one of the following club officers). You are welcome to eat your lunch during the meeting. If you have any questions, please call/write Bill (Code 660.2/x6-7756), Brian (Code 200/x6-1110), Bill (Code 303/x6-6370), or Mike (Code 560/x6-6069).

Coming this month:

November 6th
In the video today, Dr. Charles Colson of Prison Fellowship Ministries discusses the "Marks of the Church". Come prepared to be stimulated and challenged.

November 13th
Today, it will be our privilege to have Kathleen Campanella visit to tell us about the "New Windsor Conference Center" and its "Serry Gift Shop", (which has a 60% off sale of artisan handcrafts from November 15th to 25th). Kathleen is the Director of Public Relations and Hospitality for the center; come and hear what the center has to offer.

November 20th
Did God give each person "free will"? Can good truly overcome evil? Consider these and other questions as we journey inside the mind of C. S. Lewis in a contemporary review of his timeless classic, "The Screwtape Letters".

November 27th
Dr. Charles Stanley of "In Touch Ministries" considers "The Will of God: His Plan for Your Life" in what he calls, "The Big Picture". Dr. Stanley has been a senior pastor for over 30 years and is a best-selling author as well.

John 7:37 - 38 (NASB): 'Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.' " '

President's Notes:

Again this year, the Bible Club will be collecting warm clothes for the men at the "Helping Up Mission" in Baltimore. This is the mission where Reverend Gary Byers ministers. (He spoke at the club last year about his avocation of participating in archaeological digs in the Holy Land.) Please contact Bill @ x6-7756 for more information or to drop off any unwrapped gifts.

Also, the G.W.C.E.A. Convention will be held January 25-26 with Mr. Mike Riddle as the keynote speaker. Mr. Riddle was another guest speaker at the club last year.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NASB): 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'

For more information, contact Bill on x6-7756 or Brian on x6-1110 or see: http://gewa.gsfc.nasa.gov/clubs/Bible/ .
