Fellow Gardeners:

As you are aware, we have been asked by GEWA to remove as much of the trash
and debris from the wooded area by the west campus garden plots as
possible. Old fencing, wheelbarrows, wire, etc. have accumulated over the
years. Last year a great deal of material was removed, and the garden
looks MUCH better. However, there is still a LOT of junk in the woods.

Recently GEWA has reiterated their complaint. Nick Gray has been working
to pull much of the remaining material out of the woods and has been making
debris piles along the road for pick-up and removal. Nick and his wife
spent last Saturday hauling away much of it and completely filled the
dumpster he had arranged to use. Unfortunately, there is still much to do.

Please help out! Anything you can do would be really terrific. We need
help with:
Pulling stuff out of the woods and adding it to the collection piles.
Loading and unloading material from transport vehicles.
Volunteering your own vehicle for hauling.

Hopefully everyone with a plot on west campus can help out with pulling
stuff from the woods and adding it to the collection piles. Any small
amount you can manage would be of help. If you help with
loading/unloading/hauling, please contact Nick (ngray@hst.nasa.gov) to
coordinate with him.

I noticed yesterday that Nick has not yet had a chance to prepare his own
garden plot for planting. Instead, he has spent many, many hours removing
trash from the garden area. Please help out if you can.
