Web Information for GEWA Clubs
Web pages served on Goddard machines must conform to the Goddard and
NASA Web policy. The Gewa server is using the Goddard network, so
it must conform. If your pages outside of the GEWA server are using
the Goddard network (by having .nasa.gov in your URL), you must conform as well.
These series of pages and links are here to help to clubs be compliant
with these policies.
The top page of each Club page should have some meta tags. I have an example
index page for people to download and use. These
include all of the meta tages, you just need to provide the information.
One of the big sticky points is 508 compliance. The
Goddard Webmasters are a good
starting point. If you keep your pages simple, then it is very easy to
be compliant.
Another is security. Since the Gewa server will be seen from outside of
Goddard, we must make sure that buildings and room numbers cannot be seen.
The Goddard Webmasters does this, and I will ask how Emma does this on her pages. You can give a number for people outside to call to get the information,
and people inside will be able to see the room number and times for events.
